One step at a time to your Dream Career

April 24, 2008

In talking with students, I find this a most exciting time.

They are prepping for exams, writing resumes, going to interviews and hoping for the best. The classroom days are almost all behind them and they live with that bit of apprehension of what’s to come; “Will I get the position I really want?” Or, will I accept one job, then the perfect offer comes a day or so later.”

My advice is quite simple; Prepare yourself for each interview, put your best foot forward. Explore all the options…not just electronic post of a resume’ and expect the skies to open with offers.

Do your homework; When you have put all you have into the search process, you will have a feel for what is the right first step for you. The best graduation gift you can give yourself is knowing that you were diligent in pursuing the very best first career step for yourself. When you know that you know that you know, then you are confident when decision time arrives.

It won’t always be the DREAM position, but as you take the time to weigh your options, your gut will tell you what feels right….where that two-way fit is for now.

Remember, each step…each job…each experience is a building block for the Career of your Dreams. You are young..don’t be afraid that your first position could be a disaster and ruin your entire career…not likely.

You can learn wherever you are planted. Make the most of each situation…Give it all you have…learn and grow professionally everyday and you WILL Graduate and Grow Rich…one step at a time.

Graduate and Grow Rich Cover

Well, it has arrived….finally.

My book Graduation and Growrich is finally out and just in time for this years graduates. I can only hope that it is as well received as the reviewers have received it. Many of them are Academic tpes…from College Presidents, Professors and of course students.

They particularly like the Resource Guide, which gives tips to Ace an Interview, sample reumes, Cover leters, thank you notes, and a lot more.

Surprisingly, the book has gotten rave reviews from business people, as well. The cover is really coo, but the information inside shold endure long after the cover has been tarnished and perhaps torn from use.

Please visit the www.graduateandgrowrich.com site to find out more.

Book is available through
www.amazon.com/Graduate-Grow-Rich-DavidBedard/dp/0981479227/
and www.barnesandnoble.com , too.

Please share your thoughts about the book, the topic..I am already collecting suggestions for my first revisions…and they are GREAT. Here’s wishing you  a Graduation in all areas of your life….

Advice for Soon To Be College Grads

December 18, 2007

The review copies of my book Graduate and Grow Rich are shipped, and I anxiously await their arrival.

As I do the final edit, I hope to add some pages at the back with advice from others for these students looking to make their way in the REAL WORLD.

They are young, bright, well-schooled and yet many are very stressed about whether or not they can “make it.”

I welcome the dialogue and advice for their sake….
